Principal's Message

Now that August is here, we’ve officially passed the half-way mark of summer. September 6th will be here before we know it and the 2017-2018 school year will be off and going. Fife High School is excited for the possibilities and opportunities that our students and community will have this year to be involved and experience Family, Honor, and Service as part of being a Trojan. For this school year, we are excited that we will be providing additional support for all of our students, “Fife Flex.”  This program is a 40 minute block during the school day that provides staff and students with an opportunity to receive additional academic help as well as conduct activities to help students with graduation and post high school plans. For our struggling students who have a D or are failing a class, they will be assigned to required support classrooms for the period to receive additional instruction and intervention.  The remainder of our students will have the choice where they would like spend the period.  They may choose an academic classroom for additional help or enrichment, a computer lab, the library, or they may work on homework in the cafeteria. “Fife Flex” will be held Tuesdays through Friday.

One thing that all teachers, students, and families agree upon is when students are absent from class, they are miss instruction, conversations, and other classroom activities. These experiences are often difficult to replicate and are important to our students’ academic success. With this in mind, it is important that students are present and engaged in class. Being absent, regardless if it’s excused or unexcused, can have negative effects on student learning. Fife High School asks that you help our students attend and be engaged in school. Working together, we can provide excellent opportunities for our students to be successful.

We hope that you have a safe and enjoyable rest of the summer, and we look forward to September when our classes and hallways are full of students and teachers ready to have a fantastic school year.
